As part of my degree, I am taking a year out to work within the fashion industry to get some insider experience. After sending out what felt like a million and one emails, I have finally been invited to some interviews!
First impressions are everything, so I have to make sure what I wear will make an impact! To previous interviews I’m sure we have all worn the standard, smart suit and shirt combo. But nowadays, interview fashion has become more and more adventurous to allow us to show off our personality and individual style. That’s something you can’t write about on your CV!
One potential outfit I have in mind is a play on the traditional tailored suit silhouette. The shape of this structured skirt from Topshop is interesting because of the jagged hemline, but because of the neutral colour palette it still looks formal. Pair this with an embellished collar in the same shade over a simple blouse or top. I would put a simple tailored black blazer like this one from Zara with this outfit to bring it back to a smart and professional outfit. Finally the most important part of any outfit, the shoes! Shoe Zone has a range of court shoes that are just perfect for occasions such as an interview! This outfit would go with these suede effect courts that are only £14.99. Yes you read that right! They are just the right height to make your pins look amazing, but not too high that you look like you are going on a night out! The nude colour is super-flattering and will make your legs look like they go on for miles!
On the Shoe Zone website, you can find this colour as well as red (great for a hot date) and Leopard print (for the more daring!). They are so versatile and wearable so snap them up before they are all gone!
Do you have an interview or a special occasion that you need an outfit and shoes for? Post on the Shoe Zone Facebook page and I’ll be happy to pick out some things!
I’m interview ready in my Shoe Zone Courts, keep your fingers crossed!
See you next week!
