Get fresh with the latest spring styles!

Spring is a great time to head out shopping, stores are full to brim of the latest fashions and the lighter, brighter colours are a great antidote to those long Winter months. Spring fashion is also a good reminder that the weather won’t always be so gloomy!

IfLacey Ballerinas you are wondering how to update your wardrobe this Spring and make the transition from all those heavy fabrics, rich colours and chunky footwear that we loved so much in Winter, then look no further than adding an injection of colour into your wardrobe!

This season the look is all about pastels, whether you adopt head to toe candy colours or keep it fresh by slipping your feet into Shoe Zone’s pink lacy ballerina pumps (£9.99), the pretty, pastel shade and the lace detailing, tick two big style trends for the season!

Along with lace, the laser-cut trend is seeing clothing taking on a more delicate look and you will see the trend everywhere from t-shirts to footwear. We like Lilley women’s white laser-cut sling back sandals (£14.99), not only are they fashion-forward, the cork sole makes them perfect for beachwear come summer.

Also a big trend for Spring is the jacket, not only is it a practical choice for those days when a coat isn’t necessary but it’s still not quite warm enough for just a t-shirt, a jacket can be worn with just about everything from a maxi dress to jeans. The look this season is for boxy or cropped jackets, as well as the biker jacket we saw so much of last season, except for spring it must be pastel!

Wear your pastel jacket with a statement t-shirt and a pleated tea-length skirt for a look that is effortlessly stylish. Finish the look with white Lilley beaded ankle strap sandals with silver stud and bead detailing (£12.99).

Also, looking set to be the must-wear item of the season, is the shirt-dress. Whether denim, cotton, plain or patterned, the shirt-dress is easy to wear and flattering on every figure.  Keep the look fresh with Lilley tan reptile gladiator sandals (£14.99).  Gladiators are set to be a key footwear trend for the Spring/ Summer season and look great with trousers, skirts, shorts and dresses.

Hot from the fashion shows is a step back in time to the early 90’s, with a trend for dungarees, Jelly Shoespendants and slip dresses predicted soon. Ease yourself in by donning a super-trendy pair of jellies! Check out Truffle women’s jelly shoes (£7.99) available in black, white and clear glitter.

Of course, not every trend works for every person, and the best way to look and feel your best is to know what works for you and stick to it. If for example you look great in structured, fitted items, shy away from a boxy jacket and update your wardrobe with a smart blazer in a lighter shade. Likewise, if pastel tones leave you looking in need of a holiday stick with a palette of colours that suit you but work the pastel trend in through your accessories.

Making the shift from Winter wear to Spring wear can often be as simple as changing your accessories, with unpredictable weather, packing away the jeans and opting for cool linen for four months of the year isn’t really a practical choice, so simply lighten your Winter wardrobe by packing away the boots and opting for pretty lace ballerinas and sandals.

Strappy SandalsIf you just want to update your look ready for the sunshine, look no further than Lilley women’s sandals with elasticated toe post (£9.99). The layers of elasticated straps and diamante detailing make them a perfect Summer staple.
