Holidays full of fun (and no hassle!)

As kids everywhere rejoice over the two-week Easter break stretching ahead of them, parents can be forgiven for approaching the break from school with a little less enthusiasm! Not only is filling the time a challenge, but days out and treats can soon mount up, making the time off expensive.

Gladiator SandalsFor the lucky few, the Easter break will see them jetting off for some much needed sunshine, if you are planning an Easter getaway, make sure you are ready for the sun with sandals and pumps for the whole family.  Check out Shoe Zone’s on-trend range, including gladiators!

If jetting off to sunnier climes is not on your to-do list this Easter, then don’t worry, a little planning can make the Easter break a fun time for the whole family and need not cost the earth.

Activities such as baking, craft projects (Easter bonnet parade anyone?), trip to the park or library can all spark their imagination and keep them entertained. And a trip to the leisure centre for a spot of swimming is inexpensive but great fun for the kids.

Canvas ShoesWhen spending time pottering about with the kids, keep your look casual, if you are worrying about ruining your best blouse with poster paint you won’t be able to relax!  So keep it simple with jeans and a t-shirt and complete the look with some fashionable canvas footwear such as lace up blue canvas shoes (£6.99) or the on-trend navy canvas with floral design (£7.99), perfect for spring!

The kids will not go far wrong in canvas either, so treat your little boy to navy and blue slip ons (£6.99) or our cool Spiderman red and silver hi-top canvas pumps (£12.99). For your little girl there is Walkright girls’ lace-ups in white and blue (£7.99) with cute butterfly detailing or the bang-on trend denim bow print slip ons (£4.99).

As well as home-based fun, it is nice to treat them to a day out, so look at local places to see what is on in your area.  Farms are great at this time of year, full of newborn animals; your little ones may even get the chance to feed the lambs!

With the weather likely to be mixed, help them enjoy their time outdoors by kitting them out in layers so they can warm up or cool down as need be and wellies to keep feet dry and shoes mud free! We like our girls turquoise and pink wellies or for the boys, navy robot print (both £9.99), with toggle detail to keep feet extra- cosy.  Also perfect for splashing around outside is the girls’ berry and flower design and boys’ space print wellies (both £6.99).

Of course, if the kids are getting muddy, chances are Mum will too, so be prepared with our blue glitter heart wellies (£12.99) or work the ankle welly trend with our red bow ankle boots (£12.99)!

Girls-BallerinasWith the whole family off over the Easter weekend, make the most of time together by having a lovely meal, whether at home or in a restaurant, make the occasion special by dressing up a little and taking your time over a meal together. To get the little ones looking smart, there is Walkright girls’ polka dot ballerina shoes (£7.99), which look perfect with a party dress or for some spring fashion check out the girls’ floral ballerinas in white (£7.99). For your young man, have him look cool and smart in Walkright boys’ brown Velcro trainer shoe (now £9.99) or Ascot silver and black hi tops (£14.99).
