Blog Spot of the Week: Heroine in Heels

Happy Friday!

If like us you’ve decided it’s time to pop on those Winter boots, then check out this week’s blog spot from the lovely Laura at Heroine in Heels.

It’s fair to say that most of us spend more time in our work clothes than we do our good old comfy casual’s, so the weekend’s are a great time to shake up your style and ditch those skyscraper heels and pencil skirt. Continue reading

Christmas Stockings

What makes Christmas special for you? Is it the look on your children’s faces as they open their gifts? Perhaps it is spending time with relatives that you do not often get to see, or maybe it is indulging in your favourite treats.

Likely, a magical Christmas is a combination of things such as memories from childhood and new traditions that work together to create special family moments.

Pack away those Summer sandals – it is time to get cosy!

In many ways, dressing for Autumn and Winter is much easier than for Summer, in are the woolly tights and jumpers and out is the fake tan and the need to shave your legs! Hurrah!

Our girly shopping trip to Shoe Zone – By Wendy

Kizzy and I went on a lovely girlie shopping trip last weekend. We were excited to go to Shoe Zone with a £30 voucher to spend on some new shoes. The store had lots of styles on display including a huge range of boots for the Autumn. I decided that a pair of ankle boots was exactly what I needed to see me through the colder months and I was really impressed by the choice and the prices! While I tried on various styles of boots, Kizzy was trying on a selection of pumps and canvas footwear, in a variety of colours and patterns. They were excellent value starting at just £3.99 a pair.

Christmas Promotion Photo Shoot

With ‘Fairytale of New York’ playing in the background, we started our mission of set building, fabric draping, prop placing and most importantly shoe positioning. Things were taking shape nicely, but we were far from a finished shot at this point. We couldn’t put it off any longer as we pulled out the dreaded prop – a gingerbread garland! ‘Dreaded’ I hear you cry, how can a gingerbread garland be so bad? Well, suspending a fragile string of fabric men and love hearts between two metal poles and taping it into position with very attractive gaffer tape is the easy bit. Getting it into focus and in the shot successfully was quite another.
