The Ascot hiking shoe is a great budget buy for those just getting into outdoor walking, and perfect for better weather. Being fabric, it’s not waterproof and as it’s only a shoe rather than a full-on walking boot with ankle support it’s probably not suitable for hardcore hiking up Snowdon.
However, it is extremely lightweight making it great for summer wear and perfect to pack in your holiday case.
I found it to be a generous fit meaning you can comfortably wear thicker walking socks, and it was very comfortable. The soft padding around the ankle offers gentle support and means walking on uneven ground is not too uncomfortable.
Great grip meant it worked brilliantly on the slightly slippy ground in the forest. The trainer style also means it’s perfect to wear when I do the school run and then head straight off on a dog walk afterwards.
At only £12.99 the Ascot Hiking shoe is brilliant value for money.
