Everyone Needs a Pair of Plimsolls
Plimsolls are known by many different names depending on where you live, for example: in parts of the UK they are known as the “sand shoe”: in Wales they are known as “daps” or “dappers” and in Scotland and Northern Ireland they go by the name of “sannies” which has been taken from the term “sand shoe”.
For many years, plimsolls were compulsory footwear for children in education when they were taking part in Physical Education lessons but as time went on, the rules became a little more flexible and these days, they are worn more as a fashion item, leaving school and colleges accepting sporty-style trainers as appropriate footwear for P.E lessons.
Plimsolls are worn by hundreds of thousands of people (men and women) every day because they are both comfy and versatile; making them an excellent choice for an everyday shoe for a number of different occasions.
