As the colder weather starts to roll in and the days begin to get shorter, you’d be forgiven for reaching for those warm and cosies. It’s time to forget about those funky flip flops and strappy sandals, and replace them with something a little more snuggly. So why not treat yourself to some of those fur lined ankle boots that are going to be all the rage this season?
We have lots of new styles and designs coming in for the Autumn/Winter 2017 season and we’re pretty confident that you’re going to love them!
We’ll be seeing a 90’s revival with embroidered flowers being high up on the style stakes, but if embroidered boots aren’t really your thing, you’ll be please to hear that decorative buckles and military style boots remain a firm favourite.
We can’t forget that winter brings with it party season, and that can only mean one thing… glitter! Christmas time really wouldn’t be the same without a fancy pair of shoes and this years range won’t disappoint. If you’re more of a ballerina flats kind of gal, there will be many different styles to choose from; seriously sparkly to something a little more understated, the choice is yours! If you’re planning a night out or you want something a little more dressy than ballet pumps, then we highly recommend you check out our brand new, all sparkle ankle boots which will be available in both black and silver.
What’s New in Shoe Fashion for Women?
Women’s shoe fashion can vary widely from one year to the next and this year is no exception. Along with the 90’s embroidery revival, we’ll also be seeing a resurgence of the swinging 60’s chunky, block heels and over the knee boots; wardrobe staples for any serious fashionista this winter time.
If your tastes are a little more Scandi-chic, rugged, fur lined ankle boots with tassels and zips are going to be a big deal this year. Team them with a simple pair of skinny jeans and plain turtle neck top for a timeless autumn look.
As we’ve already mentioned, over knee boots are going to be a big deal too. Flattering, comfortable and most importantly warm, thigh high boots are the perfect choice when you want to look funky but with minimal effort. Wear them with an oversized, chunky knitted jumper for the ultimate in boho chic.
If classic style is more your thing, nothing says yesteryear like a gorgeous pair of brogues or loafers. Couple them with a thick pair of tights and swing dress for a cute hipster look. Black patent and coloured brogues are firm favourites too, perfect if you want to jazz up a monotone outfit. Or if you fancy channelling your inner Katharine Hepburn and prefer to keep things formal, team them with a pair of smart tailored trousers and a pussy bow blouse.
We can’t talk about autumn/winter trends without mentioning chelsea boots. Quintessentially British, they can add a classic to any outfit and look great with both skinny jeans and dresses alike. If you really want to add a twist to your look, studs and other such embellishments are going to be extremely popular this winter time. Chelsea boots are also a style that can be worn by the whole family, mens chelsea boots are just as popular as women’s and they make a great alternative to lace up boots when you want a sleeker look.
If you’re more rock chick than equestrian babe, then you’re certainly going to love our new range of military and biker boots. Available in a variety of different lengths and styles, you’re bound to be spoilt for choice. No one should be without a solid pair of winter boots, and if you can do it in style, there’s no excuse!
Men’s Shoe Fashion Tips
We understand that it’s not just the women out there that like to stay fashionable in the winter time, that’s why we’re really pleased with our men’s selection of winter footwear too!
As we’ve already mentioned, chelsea boots are a great alternative if you’re looking for something a little more dressy compared to your regular winter boots. They’re robust, waterproof and keep your feet warm, perfect if you’re out on the town and don’t fancy wearing shoes or trainers! Want to look super dapper? Team them with a smart pair of slim fit jeans and a tailored jacket, add a woolen scarf and an umbrella and you’ll have English gentleman sorted!
If you want something a little more casual but still robust enough to deal with the wintery weather, a good pair of rugged trainers should do the trick. With a tough sole and a robust upper, they’re comfy, protective yet perfectly suited for everyday wear. Wear them easily with jeans or if you really want to keep things comfy, they’ll go equally well with lounge wear.
If you too are off to a few parties this Christmas time, you’ll want to look your best and what better way to do that than with a classic pair of men’s brogues or oxfords? Perennial favourites, they’ll never go out of fashion and they finish off any smart outfit nicely. Choose a classic pair of black brogues if you want to keep your outfit conservative, if however you want something a little more fun, opt for a contrasting colour of brogues or oxfords to the rest of your outfit… Why not wear a bow tie instead of a normal tie too and go really hipster about it!
Buying new winter boots for you and your family or a gorgeous new glitzy pair of shoes for your Christmas party, is almost as important as the party itself. With that in mind, we wanted to give you a little sneak peek into what footwear trends can be expected over autumn/winter 2017… we hope you like it!
