What I most like is that even though they’re character boots, they’re not garish or overly cartoony. The navy colour with the contrast red stitching still looks quite smart, and the panels and tongue have a subtle rescue vehicle print that’s still very appealing to my nee-naw-loving little boy.
The large Velcro strap makes these easy to put on for both mums and kids, which is great when you’re fiddling with all the other zips, buttons and flaps of outdoor winter clothing. And though we haven’t had any snow yet, the chunky grip sole seems sturdy enough to cope with tricky weather.
The boot comes up to mid shin, which makes his trousers bunch a bit, but this doesn’t stop him being active, and keeps the strong wind out. The snuggly fleece lining also keeps his feet nice and toasty on a cold day in the park.
