Take a look at all of our top tips and advice for working in these departments, you may even get some pizza topping inspiration too…
So tell us what your job role involves.
I am a photographer and retoucher, so me and the others in the studio shoot and edit any imagery to be used across our digital platforms and instore.
How did you get into this career?
I went to university to study Commercial Photography for 3 years after studying it at college and fell in love with anything product photography related, I even started to shoot some product photography for a few small businesses before I started working here.
What is your favourite thing to do in your job?
Definitely the editing process, to see how it is after we have shot it to then the final piece after editing is so satisfying and quite exciting to see something you’ve pictured and planned in your head come to life!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to go into your career?
Be creative and experiment and take risks, doing what everyone else does will not help you to stand out!
Do you work in a team in your role, and if so, what’s that like?
Yes, we’re a small team of 3 in the studio which is so nice, it’s a lot easier to communicate ideas!
Now, onto the serious topics: what’s your go-to pizza topping?
Anything as long as it has mushrooms on.
What do you like to get up to outside of work?
I love a good book, I don’t get as much time to read anymore but it’s something I really love. And cooking, I love being in the kitchen!
What’s the last thing you watched that you really enjoyed?
I would probably say Suits, it wasn’t the last show I watched but it was defiantly my favourite.
What are you listening to on your commute to and from work?
Anything Indie, probably a bit of Sam Fender at the minute, he’s my go too.
And finally, what’s been your highlight of working at shoezone so far?
The shoezone team are so welcoming and friendly, so I’d probably say meeting and getting to know them all and being a part of the team.
