I have just started a new job – what better excuse for a change of footwear? I had got myself into a trainers and sneakers rut in my old job – because it was comfortable and I could get away with it. A new role has given me to opportunity to reset so I’ve opted for a smarter look without getting too formal! And because Autumn has definitely arrived, and Winter is clearly on its way, I felt a set of boots were in order.
These High Leg Buckled Boots are just about my favourite pair of Shoe Zone shoes that I’ve ever worn; they are a complete and total bargain and so comfortable that I could sleep in them. Having been out of practice wearing anything other than a pair of trainers, I had been worried about having to spend the entire working day in smart shoes but when I get home, I don’t want to take them off.
The boots slip on easily and then you zip them up along the inside of the leg. Unlike any other high leg boots I’ve tried before, these ones are supple enough and spacy enough for my calves to feel loved. The support around the base of the ankle isn’t very strong so I’ve no intention of walking long distances in them but this does mean that they are flexible enough that I feel able to drive comfortably when wearing these boots.
I’ve worn these boots with a long skirt and occasionally under trousers but I think they look their very best when I wear the high leg boots with plain black leggings or jeggings. I like wearing them so that the world can see the buckles at the side – they look almost like riding boots when worn like this.
For me, pair of good waterproof boots are a winter essential and I’m loving this pair!
