The sun may be out but it can still be very cold and we can still get caught out by a pesky shower or two however fear not, you can still rock this season’s hottest looks whilst keeping your feet comfy and dry.
Ballerinas, are always going to be a wardrobe staple whatever the season, not only are they super comfy but there are so many fantastic styles out there to choose from which means you can mix and match your look as often as you like, you will quite literally have a pair of shoes for any outfit you choose to wear.
This season ballerinas are back with a bang! With pretty florals, nautical stripes, polka dots and quirky reptile print taking centre stage they are the perfect casual footwear for a cinema date or those weekends shopping with the girls. Style them simply with your favourite skinny jeans and a striped t-shirt.
Canvas Shoes are ‘the’ perfect style for the transition from Winter to Spring, choose from either a lace up or slip on style. Canvas shoes are great for adding a casual yet trendy finishing touch to your overall look. Choose bright colours for an eye-catching look or go bold with cool and funky prints, style with turned up boyfriend jeans or your favourite leggings for a laid back look. If it’s something more Spring like you are after then pastel colours and delicate diamantes are for you.
**If you’re a bit of a crafter choose a plain white style and use fabric paints and pens to create your very own custom made designs, don’t forget studs and sequins for a glam touch**
Spring Trends: Formal
Sometimes in life the occasion calls for a more formal look, whether this is for work, a wedding or party. Spring is the perfect time to start experimenting with different looks as new styles and trends come in.
Give your wardrobe a bit of a revamp and a nod to a bygone era in a pair of round toe court shoes. This style of shoe is back in fashion this season and really adds an elegant sixties touch to your outfit. Pair with a grey pencil skirt and pussy bow blouse for a Mad Men inspired work look. Choose these shoes in a nude colour and really make them pop by wearing them with a pair of black opaque tights on those cooler Spring days.
If you’re after a sharp, modern look then a pair of pointed toe heels are for you, these classic shoes in black look sophisticated when styled with a simple shift dress, slick of lippy and statement jewellery, choose a softer nude colour and team with floral dress for a look that works perfectly when in the office or even for a Spring wedding.
Sometimes we ladies like to give our feet a bit of a rest from heels, wearing them all the time can be very tough on our feet, however it can be hard to find an elegant flat shoe; this Spring however sees the lace up ballerina make a welcome return. Inspired by the shoes worn by prima ballerinas themselves these shoes include lace up ties so you can recreate that beautiful look yourself. Show off the shoes stunning detail by wearing with a full skirt in a pretty pastel shade and bare legs for a chic look.
Summer Trends: Casual

This Summer one trend that is set to be absolutely huge is the seventies revival, in particular chunky sandals, we love this hippy chic look and cannot wait to try it ourselves. With many of the styles keeping to the original seventies colours of orange, brown and tan they will look amazing with your Summer glow and the wood effect heel really adds that authentic touch. For a cool, casual look that’s perfect for those lazy Summer BBQ’s and parties, style with a boho printed playsuit and floppy fedora hat, alternatively for a look that’s perfect for the beach choose a maxi dress in an eye catching print. Summer weddings can be a relaxed affair so style a pair of these chunky sandals with a burnt orange jumpsuit, gold accessories and seventies inspired makeup. This is one blast from the past you’ll want to embrace.
Summer Trends: Formal
Unsure what to wear for work during those hot Summer months? Fear not you can create some gorgeous formal outfits for work with some of this season’s hottest footwear trends. Gladiator Sandals add a high fashion touch to your working look; this Summer we see the return of the calf high gladiators. Style a tan pair with a floaty navy dress for a classic and elegant look, these two colours are a match made in heaven.
Wedge Sandals are perfect for elongating your legs and adding a much needed height boost should you need it. Add a jewelled white pair of wedges to palazzo trousers and striped top for a nautical inspired look; add bright red jewellery for a bold finishing touch that’s great for the office. Why not rock of the other wedge trends this season and add a pair with ghille ties to your work look. These look fantastic in classic colours such as black, tan or white. Who says work outfits have to be boring?
Summer Trends: Colours, Prints & Detailing
Choosing the right colour can instantly lift an outfit. Once the Spring and Summer months roll around it can be a great time to experiment and get out of your comfort zone to see what works for you. These are some colours, prints and details that you’ll be seeing more of this season, so why not give them a try…
White – there is never a better time to wear white footwear than in the warmer months; it is a clean fresh colour that looks amazing with a bronzed tan. This season choose white ballerinas with pretty diamante detailing for work or style white wedges with high waist shorts for a cool beach look.
Brown – we know what you’re thinking, brown is not the most exciting of colours but you couldn’t be more wrong. This season brown is one of ‘the’ colours, with looks inspired by the seventies set to make a return it’s time to treat your feet to some stylish brown chunky sandals, a surprisingly versatile colour it works well with rich, vibrant colours such as orange, red and yellow, so be brave and embrace a bold look.
Nude – when the warmer months arrive we all want to ditch our boring black shoes but for work we need a classy and dressy alternative. Nude shoes not only make your legs appear longer (result!) but they are also a match made in heaven for most other colours; we are fans of the navy and nude combination. If nude is a little too plain, try picking out a blush pink instead, this will add a girly touch to your look.
Blue – one other colour that is set to be huge is blue. Navy is a beautiful alternative to plain old black. Navy ballerinas or court shoes will look amazing teamed with white trousers for a cool nautical look or a nude peplum dress for a chic wedding look.
Prints – go bold with a printed bag this season. Choose from eye-catching prints such as tropical trees, butterflies or flowers, these can add a much needed boost to a plain outfit or to brighten up those rainy days.
