What to Wear on a Summer Holiday in Orlando
If you’re looking for a destination outside Europe, Orlando is a firm family favourite. It’s sunny, fun and, of course, famous for its theme parks. A trip to Orlando is likely to involve plenty of walking and being outside for a large part of the day. You’ll be busy doing and seeing a lot, and may need to be prepared for a range of weather conditions from hot and humid to stormy. Here’s what to pack:
Casual summer clothes: generally the weather is hot and humid, so you’ll need to take a comfortable summer wardrobe. Casual sundresses, shorts and t-shirts work well. In the theme parks there’s no need to dress up, you will be walking in the heat all day so comfort is your main concern. However, you might choose to take one or two smarter outfits for a special dinner or evening out. Don’t forget to pack some cardigans or scarves to cover up too. Evenings may get cooler and air conditioning can make restaurants chilly too.
Comfy footwear: plenty of walking requires comfortable footwear! We’d recommend some flat sandals or lightweight walking shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. If you’re caught in a thunderstorm you need footwear that can survive the downpour and keep you going!
Swimwear: don’t forget your swimsuit, as you’ll want to be waterpark-ready. It’s also best to pack flip flops or sliders for relaxing by the pool. You’ll probably want to have a couple of pool days in between all those theme parks!
What to Wear on a Summer Holiday in Santorini
Santorini is an extremely popular Greek island due to its breathtaking views, beautiful towns and gorgeous sunsets. It’s great for romantic trips, relaxation and good food. The weather is pleasantly warm and not too humid. Here’s what to pack:
Smart/casual summer clothes: on a chilled romantic break you’ll want to dress to impress without looking like you’ve made too much effort. Pick some flowing summer dresses, lightweight jumpsuits and pretty skirts. Don’t forget to take some smarter dresses for dining out in the evenings.
Accessories: you’ll need your sunhat and sunglasses for sure. Take other cute accessories to dress your outfits up for the evening: jewellery, handbags and light scarves all work well.
Sandals: we’d recommend flat sandals for daywear in Santorini as you’ll find plenty of uneven stone steps. Pack some walking shoes too as the landscape is mountainous. Take some heeled sandals for eveningwear.
Swimwear: no holiday would be complete without swimwear. You’ll be sure to want a dip in the pool or the sea during your break in Santorini. You’ll also want some cover ups for heading to lunch or keeping the sun off too.
What to Wear on a Summer Holiday in Ibiza
There’s no getting away from Ibiza’s reputation as a party island. If you’re heading there this summer you’re likely to be looking for fun, clubs, pool parties and good vibes. If you’re a real party animal you might find yourself out after the sun sets more often than not, so keep this in mind when you pack your case:
Party clothes: opt for embellishments, sequins, glitter and sparkles. Party dresses and glam attire are sure to be needed. Bodycon dresses are popular, and you can opt for mesh and crochet for a look that’s right up to date.
Swimwear: In Ibiza you’ll certainly need your swimwear, but you might want to take it up a notch for those pool parties! Think ‘Love Island’ and you’re probably there! Stand out in stunning bikinis with added glitz and glamour.
Accessories: Remember to pack your jewellery and handbags to dress up those evening outfits. You can also opt for body jewels and glitter make up to really turn heads.
Party shoes: you’ll definitely want to get your party shoes on! A couple of pairs of strappy heels will give you plenty of options for your evening outfits. Plain styles will give you more opportunity to mix and match with your outfits but you might like to opt for glitter or diamante for added impact.
What to Wear on a Summer Holiday in the UK
Let’s not forget that the UK has some fabulous spots for a staycation! You can visit the seaside, the countryside or an interesting city, all of which might offer something totally different to where you live. Popular destinations like the Lake District, Yorkshire, Devon, Cornwall, Norfolk, Suffolk and Wales to name just a few are calling out from across the UK. A staycation can be a great way to manage your holiday budget and carry that little extra luggage.
As we all know, the British weather can be a little unpredictable. That’s just fine if you’ve packed well! Here’s what to take:
Clothes to layer: the best way to cope with extremes of weather is to layer clothing. You can start with a base of summer clothes if the forecast looks good, but add some leggings or trousers, cardigans or light jumpers and a couple of scarves to prepare for things cooling off quickly.
Waterproofs & wellies: downpours often take us unawares and may not be as warm as the rain experienced in tropical holiday destinations. It’s always worth packing waterproofs and wellies just in case!
If we haven’t covered your destination of choice this summer, do a little research before you pack and you’re sure to find a wardrobe that works for your holiday. Bon voyage!
