This time of year has so much for us to look forward to, nice food, presents and of course, the annual Christmas party! Whether it is a black tie ball or a sausage roll and warm wine in the office canteen that awaits you, with our quick guide to looking good this Christmas, you can be suitably dressed and ready for anything.
The office drink
If the plan this year is to enjoy a quick drink after work with a few colleagues, you will want to keep your look low-key and yet different from your usual work wardrobe. A quick pit stop in the work loos can see you freshen up your make-up for the evening, try adding a bolder shade of lip colour than you would usually wear. If you wear a uniform, you will probably want to change your clothes, so pack items that will not crease easily, jeans and a smart top are perfect for the pub.
If your work wear is usually smart, try swopping your usual jacket for a patterned kimono and slip off your sensible footwear for suede effect black studded ballerinas for a look that is edgy and on trend.
Lunch with colleagues
For a get together during working hours you will need to be dressed appropriately for work, however you can add a little Christmas sparkle by swapping your usual blouse for a smart embellished sweater and by adding Shoe Zone’s black ballerina’s with large silver bow to your look. Try to avoid anything too tight, sitting back at your desk after a three-course lunch in a tight fitting dress is not a good combination!
Night out with the girls
Whether it is with work colleagues or the school mums, a night on the town is the perfect antidote to all that pre-Christmas stress! Bling up your outfit by teaming Truffle black sparkle wedges, decorated with sparkly diamantes and featuring a platform sole and high wedge heel, with a leather-look skirt or your favourite LBD.
A meal with the bosses
If you are being treated to an evening in a fancy restaurant, you will want to look smart and yet not dressed for the office! A flattering wrap dress with statement jewellery will bring your look up to date and black suede-effect wedge heels with gold toecap detailing, adds an interesting yet fun look.
A night at the theatre
This year enjoy a family night out by treating your loved ones to a night at the theatre. Whether it is a musical or a pantomime, the theatre is a great Christmas night out. Work this season’s 60’s vibe into your look with a short dress and black tights teamed with black suede effect studded Chelsea boots. The silver stud detailing adds a bit of festive bling and the low heel makes them perfect for negotiating icy walkways!
If you haven’t any plans for a pre-Christmas get together, fear not, you can still enjoy some time away from wrapping paper and chaos by treating yourself to a morning out – doing whatever you fancy! We suggest staying clear of the shops and visiting a coffee shop for a mid-morning cuppa and cake. Make it feel like a real treat by taking extra care with your hair and make-up and pairing Lilley ankle boots with stud detailing with skinny jeans and an on-trend blanket wrap to keep you snug.
However you end up celebrating Christmas this year – have fun!
