Here at Shoe Zone, all of our team are like family. We wanted to share with you a little insight into our lovely team, give you more information about a day in the life at Shoe Zone!
How long have you been a member of the Shoe Zone team?
6 weeks
What is your job title, and what does this involve?
PR and Digital Marketing Assistant – There are two aspects to my job role – one being PR (Public Relations) and the other, all things social!
How did you get into this career?
After completing my A-levels, I was unsure as to which career I wanted to go into. I knew that I have a creative side to me so I wanted to do something creative, yet challenging. I came across an apprenticeship scheme in a marketing role and it kind of just went from there. I thoroughly enjoyed what the role of a marketer consisted of and then when I felt like I needed a new challenge, I saw the job advertise at Shoe Zone and thought it was so much more ME. I mean, which girl doesn’t love shoes?! So I decided to apply and well, here I am!
What has been your highlight of working at Shoe Zone so far?
I think my highlight of working at Shoe Zone so far would have to be working on the Autumn/Winter Look Book for 2016. It’s been so much fun brainstorming and researching fresh ideas and trying to keep up with our competitors and really stand out. This project has really allowed me to express my creative flair!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to do your job?
You have to understand and know that marketing moves fast and is constantly changing so you always have to be ‘in the know’ and aware of the changes and how to utilise and adapt to them. At Shoe Zone, you constantly have to be ahead of the game as you’re always working ahead of time in a social media point of view as well as seasons – you’re always one step ahead!
And finally, what’s your favourite thing about working at Shoe Zone?
Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. My colleagues have also been really supportive and have already made me feel like a part of the team!
