Located on Congleton Retail Park along with retailers such as Boots, Halfords, B&M, M&S and Bensons for Beds.

Congleton was listed in the Doomsday Book and in 1620 acquired the nickname of Beartown due to the popularity of the sport of bear-baiting when it sold the town’s bible to purchase a new bear leading to a 20th century folk song “Congleton Bear” by John Tams.

During the English Civil War former mayor John Bradshaw was president of the council which sent Charles I to his execution.

Congleton is home to one of the oldest recorded rugby union clubs in the country, dating back to 1860.

The town annually hosts a Food and Drink Festival along with a Jazz and Blues festival which showcases acts from across the UK.
