Situated on Heanor Retail Park along with retailers such as Argos, Peacocks, Aldi, Clintons and Home Bargains.

Heanor is a small hill-top market town and the name derives from Old English and means “place at the high ridge”

Markets are held in the market square on Monday, Friday and Saturday with a Community Fair held on the first Saturday of each month.

The town was involved in the coal mining industry for generations until its decline in the 1980’s.

The local football club, Heanor Town FC, known as the Lions was established in 1883 and shares its ground with Heanor Town Cricket Club. There is also a cycling club “Heanor Clarions” founded in 1934.
