Help the Hospices is the national charity for hospice care. Hospice care helps people with terminal and life-limiting illnesses live well before they die. Care is tailored to patients' individual needs and can be provided in the hospice, throughout the community and in a patient's own home. All hospice care is given free of charge to the patient and their friends and family. Every year over 200 hospices across the UK help 170,000 patients living with cancer and other terminal illnesses.
The majority of this care in the UK is provided by member hospices and Help the Hospices works with them and other organisations as they strive to grow and improve hospice care throughout the UK and across the world. Help the Hospices do this by running programmes to support quality patient care, through professional education and information resources, providing grants and by influencing policy. They also run fundraising and volunteering programmes that directly support our member hospices.
Every day hospices collectively have to raise over £1 million just to keep going. With limited funding from government sources every donation goes a long way to helping hospices give the very best care to children and adults with a life-limiting or terminal illness
Shoe Zone is supporting Help the Hospices through fundraising events held from 27th November to 5th December in over 550 stores across the UK. Please help us to raise money for your local hospice. Should you wish to get involved, please visit your local Shoe Zone store, it's all for a great cause!
